SOE to release Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures in the fall

SOE and LucasArts announced today a new free-to-play virtual game called Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures, based on the Cartoon Network show.

It's browser based, where players can pilot starfighters, battle it out in space, and go up against "icon adversaries" with their own custom lightsaber.

There's also mini-games, Speeder Bike Racing, and a collectible card playing game based on the Clone Wars series.

"Clone Wars Adventures is the ultimate destination for fans of The Clone Wars series and will bring the action and excitement of the show to players online so they can experience The Clone Wars universe firsthand" says SOE president John Smedley.

"We've worked with LucasArts and Lucasfilm to create a virtual world that is seamlessly integrated with the TV series and a true extension of the show. It's also just flat-out fun to play."

It was designed with children and families in mind, and offers safety options, such as "pre-canned chat and playtime settings for younger users".

Think of it as Free Realms except with Wookies and Droids, basically.

The game is slated for release digitally and through retail in the fall.

There's more information on the game through the link up top, and Massively has a video for it here.
