Nintendo’s claimed leading software sales positions in both the US and Europe so far this year with New Super Mario Bros Wii and Wii Fit respectively, with FFXIII and God of War III mounted the most serious challenges from other platforms.

The company has given an estimated top 30 in both the US and Europe for the year to date, as part of its full-year release last week. You can find the slides below.

Final Fantasy XIII has made the biggest sales on a non-Nintendo platform this year in Europe, clocking a fourth place for PS3. God of War III has taken third in the US so far, again for PS3.

The top 360 title on both lists is Modern Warfare 2, at sixth and fourth in Europe and the US respectively.

Really intresting is that list Gow 3 3rd highest selling game of the year in Usa, i didnt expect it to outsell Battlefield to be honest.

I hear they are doomed. These charts don’t corroborate that. The charts must be wrong.

The 360 version of FFXIII really must have been an utter waste of money for Square. Not only did they have to spend the extra money on porting it but they also had to publish it and pay Microsoft per DVD (apparently MS charges by disc). All for it to sell poorly on that platform.

But atleast MS paid for the marketing…

why, it did like 500k in NA, didn’t it? and it’s still selling. I don’t think the porting cost was that huge, it’s not like the game is some technical marvel..

btw, did Sony publish the PS3 version?

    No, they didn’t.

The 360 version of FFXIII has hardly done badly for S-E, just not as well as it has on Sony’s console. Given the apparently menial effort put in to the port, I can’t imagine it’s a decision they regret; I’ll be very surprised if Versus remains a PS3 exclusive.
