Rumour – Motorstorm 3 seen in the wild [Update]
Update: SCEE, unsurprisingly, has given us a “no comment”.
Original Story: Look. It’s Motorstorm 3. Apparently.
A GAF poster has snapped a pic of someone on his friends list playing “Motorstorm 3: The First Playable”.
This comes just a month after SCEE registered “Motorstorm3.com” as a domain, which it later said it was “not uncommon” to do for the company, although wasn’t meant to “be interpreted as an announcement of a new title” in the Evolution-developed IP.
The last PS3 title in the series was Pacific Rift in 2008. Motorstorm debuted with the console in 2006, with a PSP-spin off, Arctic Edge, released last year.
We’ll send off an email to Sony, although don’t hold your breath for anything concrete.

Seems perfectly possible to me. I think with the domain name activity and time passed since the last Motorstorm, that a third game is the series is a cert for this Christmas.
Hopefully some of the boffins who survived the studio Liverpool cull have made the journey to Evolution, and are ensuring the Motorstorm engine is running at full pelt.

I’d very much like to have a Motorstorm 3. Please.
That said, it won’t be out this year. If it was being developed for this year, I’d say it would have been out in the first half of this year.
After that, when the second half comes in, it’s shut off for only one game. That game, naturally, is Gran Turismo 5.
I highly doubt Sony would release another racer before or after GT5 within the second half of the year.

Good point that Johnny, they’re not going to want to put their two big racing properties against each other. I’m certain a third Motorstorm is in the works though, and if it doesn’t see a release in Q4 this year, it will likely be a early 2011 release.
Of course all bets are off if it’s a big Move title!

If rumours are true that GT is getting another demo it may not be out this year paving way for Motorstorm 3 to take its place.

“Another demo”? That time trial thing wasnt a demo. If anything, the fact that a real demo is on the way is good news. Means that the game isnt far behind.

You have to wonder why developers don’t just mask the name so this sort of outing doesn’t happen. The closed Beta for Resistance 2 showed up as “Girl With A Stick”, for instance.
Anyway, you can guarantee that this third game will be a 3D showcase for Sony; the UK leads for that side of things are based out of Evolution. I’m not sure if that would mean it’ll be coming sooner or later, but personally I’d pencil it in for Q1 2011 given that ModNation and GT5 are (probably) both this year.

Doesn’t matter evolution studios has a lot to live up after UC2,Heavy Rain,KZ2,and GOW3. This game must use the PS3 to its full potential and come close to that damn 2005 trailer or fuck off
