New Splinter Cell: Conviction trailer details co-op modes, gears

Ubi’s just dropped an awesome Splinter Cell: Conviction multiplayer trailer, showing off both a prequel co-op story mode and four Deniable Ops modes.
The co-op campaign acts as a prequel to the single-player storyline, following “intel” from St Petersburg to the Caucasus.
The four co-op battle modes are available both online and split-screen, and include Hunter, Face-Off, Last Stand and Infiltration modes.
The trailer includes plenty of new gameplay footage.
Splinter Cell: Conviction is the latest in Ubi’s Clancy series, following two separate protagonists Archer and Kestrel as they murder people for a laugh. That’s simplifying things a little, but you know what we mean.
The game’s out for PC and 360 on April 16. The game contains an invite to Ghost Recon: Future Soldier’s multiplayer beta, which takes place this summer.

Looks to me like they’ve dropped the 2v2, Merc v Spy modes from the previous iterations. If that’s the case then no sale. That was their big USP, in some ways even a precursor to L4D’s asymmetric vs mode concept.
Shame.
Although on second glance, the Face-Off mode might be a nod towards it.

@Splitfoot: dunno, but atleast and way more complicated tech-wise, they pulled of a split-screen co-op, wich PC hasn’t.
