Rumour – New Midnight Club was in the works, team now dismantled

According to a report from Joystiq, a new Midnight Club game was in development at Rockstar San Diego, but was subsequently swept under the rug.
Sources told the site that there has been an uncertain future for the series since two senior figures at the studio, Jay Panek and Mark Garone, were fired from the studio after the release of the last game in the series, Midnight Club: Los Angeles.
Other major people also walked from the studio after the handling of MC:LA, and didn’t want to be a part of the development of Red Dead Redemption.
Since then, the Midnight Club team has slowly been dismantled, raising fears the series maybe finished overall.
It comes as, on Saturday, the spouses of several Rockstar San Diego employees wrote an open letter, which accused the house that the Houser brothers built of poor working conditions.

Wouldn’t bother me at all if RDR is as great as I hope it will be.

How is that awesome. The team is dismantled and the game is no more. Unless you have a hate for the game.

Not to forget the obvious that there are people out of jobs.

Proving once again how utterly clueless the gaming industry really is.

Bah, MC:LA was actually Really Rather Good. Surprised the hell out of me as I really hadn’t paid any attention to the series previously but ended up spending over 20 hours playing this one. And I’ve barely got close to finishing it!

Midnight club 2 was brilliant and MC LA is one tough racing game, if you want a proper challenge give it a punt, its gotta be dead cheap now.
Oh, if your frustrated easily give it a wide berth

Actually, they patched it for all of the noobs.
The AI can apparantly now tell if you’re completely useless at driving games and take it easy on you.
But yeah, MC:LA was probably the best open world racer that I’ve played after Test Drive Unlimited whose sequel, also seemingly illogically, has either been canned or ‘pushed back’ until about 2057…
I can’t be bothered with fake cars, before anyone mentions Burnout, btw.
