I’ve never played Katamari, but I’d be delighted to start with this one, as the concept has always seemed very interesting and fun.

Yeh, thats just amazing. I would love to give more of a shit about the trailer but I’d like to congratulate that baby’s father first.

Katamari Damacy was brilliant, but for some reason the sequels didn’t have the same charm for me. Can’t really put my finger on why, but it’ll be ace to play the original again without it looking rubbish.

I want that hat.

@ Haggard – We Love Katamari was great, and mixed up things a bit better than the original. T’other two aren’t anywhere near as good, but that’s because Takahashi didn’t have anything to do with them.

I loved Beautiful Katamari, its a shame it got such a bashing. You did get plenty of game for your money but people who hadn’t even played it seemed to fob it off because of the whole DLC fiasco.

Seemed as good as the 1st 2 to me, tbh honest you only ever really need to own one of them though.

This looks like more of the same and in some places quite literally is (some of those levels are wholesale taken from the 360 one). Also not a fan of that even-more-cell-shaded look on some of those bits (the parts with the thick outlines), kinda takes away from the soft, plastic toy feel of the game.

@elronathon – you can choose the visual style, apparently. There are several filters which give the game’s graphics a different look if you want to use them.

This will be my first Katamari game and most likely only one ill buy hopefully it will be worth it.

So, I played the demo of Beautiful Katamari last night and… er… you guys think this series is “really good”, right?
