New Sonic and the Black Knight footage shows hack’n'slash
Sega has released a new trailer and some images from Sonic and the Black Knight.
The video shows an impressive cutscene interspersed with some gameplay of Sonic bombing about, holding a sword, hacking and slashing his way through a castle town.
See all the new media after the break.
Sonic and the Black Knight is released for Nintendo Wii worldwide in March.

After Unleashed, I doubt I’ll ever put my money down for another Sonic title again : (
The Warehog sections with their broken platforming and repetitive combat and the useless tacked on ‘adventure’ bits just aren’t worth suffering through to get to the genuinely enjoyable Sonic levels.

Do SEGA do this on purpose to just torture their fans or something?
I mean all the game needs is: Linear levels. Fast running. Fast jumping. No humans except for Robotnic. Evil animal shaped robots.

Dr. Robotnik? Don’t you mean Dr. Eggman?

No no, in all seriousness, I agree. I wish Sega would go the Capcom route and do something similar to what they did with Megaman 9. Such as Sonic 4, which would be a direct follow-on from 3, with very similar gameplay.

Hack and slash has no place in Sonic.
Can’t they just make loads of the regular Sonic-like levels that were in Unleashed and not tack some other crappy sections on, then release it on PSN/XBLA?
How can they be so damn stupid?
