Home in 10 days? “We’re not commenting on that story,” says SCEE

SCEE’s refused to confirm or deny a Times Online report yesterday that said Home’s open beta was to launch in the next ten days.

“We’re not commenting on that story, I’m afraid,” a rep told VG247 this afternoon.

The piece said open beta was to launch by December 17.

Sony’s constant line on the social app’s release is that it’d happen before the end of 2008.

The Times can’t have just got the ten days thought from thin air, right? Right?

I’m sure that that is what they are aiming for. they could be looking for a tiny sales boost before christmas. if they dont push it out before the holidays, Microsoft and Nintendo are gonna destroy Sony on the holiday sales.

only thing i might be worried about if they push it ou so quickly after the beta, they’ll have to patch it 10x a week like they do with your ps3 firmware ;)

Sony - ‘oh yeah, we promised Home was coming out this year, but we don’t people thinking that’ll actually happen, we’re happier with them thinking it’s going to slip into ‘09 and really make us look like lying fools’,

    Stupid, stupid Sony.

At least Sony improves with every mistake they make ;)

so they make a lot of mistakes? ;)

anyways, maybe they want people not to feel as bad if they have the open beta, cuz the final product will only come out in ‘09

@airdom, If you think they will sell units based on Home… Dude, you are in for another shock. If LBP flopped in the manner that it did, miserably failing to make any significant type of a sales splash, Home wont even register on the radar (if it were a retail product of course).

At this point Nintendo and MS are beating Sony like Manny Paquiao beat Oscar de la Hoya, and soon Ricky Fatton :)

    Must be true then :D
