Gears of War 2 has started popping up on torrent sites as a 6.7Gb download.
In a word, “Whoops.” Obviously, you need a chipped box to play it, but this is unlikely to go down well with Microsoft and all its vengeful legal ninjas. Like, at all.
The game’s retail release is November 7.

I dont know… I’ve got people buddied on LIVE that have had FarCry 2 for some time now and nothings happened to them, then again, FC2 isnt a Microsoft game…

Yeah’s that is a weird new trend, its no secret the Xbox 360 could be chipped but its major news on all the blogs if a big game leaked even though it happens all the time.
Probably something to do with those trying to paint the consoles as vulnerable to mass piracy like the PC only that’s a load of horse manure. A browse of some of those trackers only shows a few hundred downloading, if it were a PC release it would be in the thousands to tens of thousands.
It’s not like Microsoft is too worried about it anyway the unwashed masses are too stupid/afraid to mod the 360 so only the hardcore pirates on the 360 do it.
The RROD actually had a silver lining to it making folks wary of tampering with the console, of course ignoring the DVD as a vector of attack was monumentally stupid on MS’s part. Probably not until Xbox 360 2.0 ships will they try to close that hole.
