Lost Planet 3 is a prequel, so the rigs are quite different to the mechs seen in the previous two games. The comparatively primitive frames are designed for exploration and resource harvesting more than combat. Check out the lumbering machines in action in this Capcom Japan presentation, and watch our hero defend the rig from waves of enemy attacks while it toils away in platform drilling mode.

A developer diary for Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is below, and features Team Ninja leader Yosuke Hayashi and concept lead, Keiji Inafune, discussing development of the game. The game is in the works between three developmental entities: Comcept, Spark Unlimited, and Team Ninja. In the video, Inafune and Hayashi talk about many things, along with the differences between development in Japan and the west – something which has been touched upon before by the team. Have a watch below. We’re still unsure of a release date or platforms, but we’ll know more come E3 next week.

Lost Planet 3 has been delayed into August for “business reasons,” Capcom has announced. Originally slated for June 25 in North America and in Europe on June 28, it will now release on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on August 27 in North America and August 30 in Europe.

Capcom Japan has set a June 27 release date for Lost Planet 3, according to this week’s Famitsu via Gematsu. The prequel shooter is headed to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360; all we’ve officially heard regarding western release is sometime this year, although we had expected it in the first quarter.

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is being developed by three developmental entities: Comcept, Spark Unlimited, and Team Ninja. While it sounds as though there may be too many cooks making this bloody stew, Team Ninja boss Yosuke Hayashi said everyone is functioning as one team.
