Microsoft looking to fill software engineer position for “Skype Xbox Engineering Team”
A job listing with Microsoft UK suggests the firm is looking into implement Skype into Xbox 360. Here’s a pull from the listing: “As a member of the Skype Xbox Engineering Team in London, you will have a strong technical background developing client and/or embedded software.” Unfortunately, the job description doesn’t state whether it’s developing a stand-alone Skype client or something more appropriate for the app-filled dashboard. Nintendo: “No plans to release a Skype application for DS or DSi”
A Nintendo representative has told CVG that the company has “no plans to release a Skype application for DS or DSi”.
Skype is already available on PSP, iPhone and iPod Touch via its VoIP application, leading some to suspect it would only be a matter of time before Nintendo got in on the trend.
Further adding to the speculation, a Skype rep stated previously that a release on DSi could be possible.
“Whilst we can’t comment on any future plans to bring Skype to Nintendo’s DSi, it would technically be possible,” the spokesperson said, explaining the company’s policy of “extending the Skype infrastructure and platform to bring Skype functionality wherever, whenever, and on whatever device or site people choose to use it.”
But, Nintendo says no dice. End of story.

One piece PSP Skype headset for US release
Here. The one-piece “solution” will replace the current need to buy two separate earphones and microphone and will cost a very reasonable $20. No idea if this is going to appear in Europe.

Skype heads to PSP in Japan
No, they didn’t get it when everyone else did. Yes, they’re going to get it now. Apparently Skype will launch for PSP in Japan later this month after a two-month delay brought on because the microphone SCEJ had planned didn’t meet specifications from Skype.

Immediate PSP Skype avalability confirmed for Europe

Skype now available for PSP
According to this, Skype is now out for PSP via the new 3.90 firmware update. We’re unsure if this applies to Europe as well. You’ll need a specific headset to make the internet telephony magic happen, but this is cool nonetheless. Unless you live in Japan.
