Microsoft beefing up Natal team, 343 Industries; looking for lead on Gears of War, Shadow Complex

Hey EA cast-aways, paddle your cardboard boxes in Microsoft’s direction, because the console powerhouse recently posted a heaping helping of job vacancies.
More specifically, Microsoft’s looking for 54 fresh faces, most of whom will join either 343 Industries or the Project Natal team.
Interestingly, the company’s also hoping to scare up a lead producer to “work with an experienced team at MGS and the world-class developers at Epic to drive the success of Gears of War and Shadow Complex in the highly competitive and fascinating world of interactive entertainment.”
And Shadow Complex? But that game’s already out! Surely they’re not suggesting a… sequel? Why, that’s practically unheard of in the videogame industry!
Thanks, Develop.

Major Nelson: Shadow Complex cheaters looking at Gamerscore resets, other terrors

Dirty, rotten, no-good cheaters beware: The Major‘s got the best good/bad surveillance system this side of Santa Claus, and he knows what you’re up to. Case in point: Shadow Complex.
If you’re caught pulling a fast one in Shadow Complex, you’ll be removed from the game’s leaderboard, “investigated” for a complete Gamerscore reset, and – if your ill-gained Gamerscore is wiped clean – branded as a cheater on Xbox Live.
So yeah. Stop cheating. Otherwise, you’ll get something far worse than coal in your stocking from Chair Entertainment and Microsoft.

Shadow Complex takes 10-15 hours to beat, but is beatable in two hours — wait, what?

MTV Multiplayer got a chance to speak with Chair Entertainment about its upcoming Xbox Live Arcade side-scroller Shadow Complex. According to Chair co-founder Donald Mustard, his company’s game will be beatable in under two hours!
This, of course, conflicts with prior reports, which stated that running the game’s gauntlet would take anywhere from 10-15 hours. However, that’s also correct. As it turns out, Chair is including “sequence breaks” in its game. A sort of gaming artifact, sequence breaks allow players of games like Metroid to slip past sections of a game and acquire certain items before they’re supposed to.
Granted, sequence breaks are normally exploits discovered by players, but Chair claims it’s included the possibility of sequence breaks in the development of its game. Thus, the developer hopes Shadow Complex becomes the talk of the speed running town, and has even included an achievement for players who complete the game in under two hours.
Back in our day, we didn’t get any rashin-frashin points for speed runs, and we liked it. Kids these days.

Shadow Complex to be “one of the biggest” Live games “ever”

Epic’s Shadow Complex is going to be big for Xbox Live, service boss Marc Whitten told GI at E3. Bigger than big. The biggest in world history.
“Shadow Complex will be one of the biggest games ever,” he said.
“I don’t mean biggest in size, but biggest in terms of quality, depth, story, that we’ve ever seen.”
The game, announced during Microsoft’s E3 press conference last week, isn’t the only jewel in Live crown this summer, Whitten was quick to add.
“Marvel Vs Capcom is another one a lot of people have been asking about,” he said. “So I’m actually really excited about that line-up.”
Full interview through there.

So there ya have it.
