Dark Void landing on shelves in January

Originally set to go head-to-head with Halo: ODST on September 22, Dark Void was recently delayed into the game-munching, er, void that is “Q1 2010.” Now, though, it’s got a release date: January.
North Americans can expect the high-flying shooter on January 12, while Europeans will have to wait a few days until January 15.
Shacknews has a new trailer to celebrate the release date’s announcement. We’re not saying you need to check it out, but we think you get the idea.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma II brutalizes North American PS3s this September

Ryu Hayabusa may not be much into that whole “stealth” thing that’s got all the other ninjas talking these days, but that hasn’t kept him from sneaking onto the tail-end of September.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma II is actually launching first in North America on September 29, and then in Japan on October 1, reports Kotaku. Tecmo has also announced a collector’s edition that comes with a swank 80-page book and a $69.99 price tag.
In addition, if you preorder the game from GameStop, you’ll unlock a special costume for Ryu. And honestly, if you live in North America, where else are you gonna buy the game? Wal-Mart? Oh, that’ll show those big corporations who’s boss.

Assassin’s Creed II gets November 20 date for UK [Update]

Ubisoft just confirmed that Assassin’s Creed II will release on November 20 in the UK.
The game was fixed for a November 17 US date at E3 last week.
Game of the Year? Unless something goes badly wrong, it looks as though it may well be one of them.
Update – Britain’s getting a special edition as well, according to Play listing noticed by EG. It’ll include “a 64-page leather-and-parchment-style Conspiracy development book; an Ezio figurine wearing Master Assassin garb; three in-game bonus quests promising to cover ‘the most prestigious moments’ of the Italian Renaissance; the soundtrack by Jesper Kyd; and behind-the-scenes developer interviews.”

Mass Effect 2 coming January 2010, says marketing [Update]

Mass Effect 2 marketing on Eurogamer has included a January 2010 release date for the RPG.

Not any more.

“We’ll be making an announcement on the release timing later this month,” a rep told VG247 this morning.
The PSP action game has only been released in Japan so far, where it’s been doing “quite well”: it was the biggest selling Japanese game in January on any format.
Dissidia currently has a “mid-2009″ date for the US.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope NA release moved up, no changes elsewhere
Square Enix RPG Star Ocean: The Last Hope is officially hitting the streets one week early – at least, if you live in North America.
According to an email received by GameCyte, Square Enix has decided to give the Xbox 360-exclusive’s release date a slight tummy-tuck, resulting in a February 24 release date.
Other territories’ dates, however, remain unchanged, with Japan joining Edge Maverick and co. on February 19, and Europe on April 24.
We intend to slay this three DVD-ed beast as soon as humanly possible. How about you?

However, as of now, that date only applies to North America. Other territories are still TBA.
More Killzone 2 tomfoolery through the link. Also killing, we guess.

EA still tight-lipped on Mirror’s Edge PC release date
Like not knowing things? Then you’ll be happy to hear that EA is still keeping Mirror’s Edge’s PC release date bundled within its heart’s innermost of chambers.
When contacted by Eurogamer, the mega-publisher kept the silence alive, simply stating that no public release date has been revealed. Perplexing, considering that the PC iteration seems poised to miss this year’s lucrative holiday season.
Mirror’s Edge hits consoles this week. Maybe a successful launch will convince EA to give us some concrete details on the conspicuously neglected member of the Mirror’s Edge family. Or not. We can’t really make sense of this.

“Sorry for the delay, and rest assured, we are doing everything we can to get LittleBigPlanet to you as soon as possible.”
We’re still waiting on a European date.
Thanks, Psychotext.

You can relax now. SCEE just sent this through: “WipEout HD will be released on September 25th for £11.99.”
The game was confirmed earlier today to be launching in the US on September 25, so the news will no doubt be met with delight for Europeans waiting for the future racer.
Eurogamer gave this 9/10 today, so if you’re got £12 to waste it seems as though you won’t have to look very far.
