GameStick hits Kickstarter goal within 24-hours
GameStick, PlayJam’s portable Android games product, has reached its Kickstarter goal within 24-hours. The Android-based system has 1,091 backers who have pledged $102,529 toward its $100,000 goal – and there’s still another 28 days left on the project. Other than a sincere thank you from the developers, as of press time new stretch goals haven’t been announced, so keep an eye on the Kickstarter page for more information.

Criterion co-founder Adam Billyard joins PlayJam
PlayJam has announced the appointment of Criterion co-founder and CTO Adam Billyard as the Smart TV platform’s new CTO. Billyard will “lead and deliver PlayJam’s vision across all aspects of the company’s technological development,” and he will also “play an integral role in it’s strategic direction and future growth.” Billyard joins other recent, high profile hires this year such as GameStop’s Tony Bartel, Red Octane’s Charles Huang, and Chris Lee, co-founder of FreeStyleGames and Media Molecule.
