IO Interactive has tweeted that not only will Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days get a new gameplay video tomorrow, but a release date as well.

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days has a gone in a completely different direction than its predecessor in many ways, but one of the most noticeable changes is its visual style.
Speaking with VG247 in an interview published today, game director Karsten Lund explained to us IO’s inspiration for the new visuals, stating that games don’t “have to be photo-realistic to be perceived as real”.

Karsten Lund, director for Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, explained the title’s new down-and-dead mechanic to VG247 in an interview published today. You’ll be going down but not out, from the sound of it.

Kane & Lynch’s “YouTube” style’s shown off in a clutch of new screens you’ll find after the break, what with its shooting, blooming lights, Shanghai setting and shakycam.

I’m off to see IO’s Kane & Lynch 2 in London today. There’s an NDA on it until January 15, but I’m going to get to speak to “key personnel from the development team,” apparently.

Some more details were revealed for Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days through a fact sheet from Square Enix.
According to Kotaku, this time around you’re playing as Lynch who, after finding peace in Shanghai, finds that it’s the “perfect playground for expat criminals such as [himself]“.
Lynch also has a plan to “make a fat deal where the pay is beyond his wildest dreams and nothing is going to get in his way”. Good to hear.
The game supports online co-op, and like the original, online multiplayer.
It’s out during the second part of 2010.

IO Interactive has officially announced that Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is coming to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2010.
The shooter takes place in the “gritty Shanghai underworld” visually looks like a documentary film, and will be released under the Eidos label.
“Gamers are always looking for something new and that is exactly what they are going to get with Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days,” said Niels Jørgensen, general manager for IO Interactive.
“A special thanks to gamers worldwide for their feedback. They are certainly in for a shock as we, with immense pride, welcome back our two dear, violent and somewhat unfortunate friends.”
The game also includes a “fragile alliance” multiplayer mode, but details on that were not given.
Looks like the boys are back, kids.
