PlayStation Blog gets redesign
PSBlog social media manager, Jeff Rubenstein, has announced that the site is to undergo a redesign aimed at keeping as many stories at the top of the page as possible.
“As I see it, the main problem with blogs in general is that if it’s not at the top – nobody’s going to read it,” said Jeff.
“With a worldwide reader base, a post that lives at the top of the page California-time might be buried at the bottom when our European friends wake up. That’s not good.”

We’re still working on 2.40, says SCEA
Speaking to Loot-Ninja, SCEA’s Jeff Rubenstein has confirmed that work is still ongoing on Firmware 2.40.
“We’re still examining the cause of the problem,” he said. “We’ll announce as soon as we are ready to resume the system version update.”
Firmware 2.40, the PS3 software that adds in-game XMB and various other anticipated features to the console, was pulled after being available for less than a day after various complaints of system lock-ups.
Hopefully we’ll get more on this during UK working hours today.

Rubenstein: No reported 2.40 problems after successful install
Replying to users on the US PS blog, SCEA’s Jeff Rubenstein has said that so far, all the complaints the firm has received regarding the now-pulled Firmware 2.40 update have been regarding installation.
“We’ve received no reports of hardware issues following a successful install,” he said.
Sony took the drastic step of removing 2.40 from its servers last night after an unhealthy number of complaints of “bricking” occurred throughout yesterday afternoon and evening.

Playstation 3 firmware 2.4 video coming tomorrow
Social media manager for SCEA, Jeff Rubenstein has confirmed that at around midnight Pacific time – 8 a.m. BST – the Playstation Blog will be showing a video of the new PS3 XMB features in action.
“Planning 2 videos, 5 or so mins each. One for XMB features and one for Trophies,” replied Rubenstein to this Playstation Blog entry.
“None of the previous videos has been a short as 90 seconds, just as long as it takes to show off the features and not make you sit through a lot of fluff.”
See you in the morning then.

Sony working on “addressing needs” for global PS blogs
Jeff Rubenstein, social media manager for SCEA, has moved to allays concern that America is the only region with a “proper” PlayStation blog.
“We know that there are a lot of readers coming here from beyond North America (notably the UK, Oz, Germany, and more). We’re in the process of working out how to make sure your needs are addressed,” he said. “We hear what you’re saying.”
Good news. A proper European blog would be awesome, so we’re happy. Potentially.
Thanks, PS3F.
