Duke Nukem 3D is to make the jump to Android devices “very soon,” its been announced. The game, which is a port of the iOS version, is being made for the OS via a collaboration between Tapjoy Inc and MachineWorks NorthWest. When it releases, it’ll be available for all Android devices that are running on Version 2.1 or upwards.

Well, here we are, then. 3DRealms has released the first shot of Duke Nukem 3D on iPhone. It looks exactly as you’d expect it to – get it from IGN.

The game, being put together by Machineworks Northwest, is a full port of the 1996 shooter, complete with smoothed-out sprites.

It’s out “very soon,” apparently.

The new Duke Nukem Forever screens from the XBLA release of Duke Nukem 3D have been posted on Duke4.net in decent resolution, should you be in need of such a thing. Little else to say, really. Have a look.

There’s a YouTube video after the break which appears to show some new Duke Nukem Forever screens squirreled away in the XBLA release of Duke Nukem 3D.

The images can apparently unlocked and viewed in the game’s gallery.

Update: Here’s the IGN review – 8.5/10.

According to the Major, Duke Nukem 3D releases for XBLA this Wednesday. We can say in all honesty that we’ve never played it, and are therefore not wetting ourselves with excitement about it. We’re clearly in a minority. It’s going to cost you 800 MS Points.

A Microsoft represntative told Joystiq at X08 in Toronto that Duke Nukem 3D, released on XBLA sometime in September, will have saved film and gameplay rewind features.

The rewind feature lets you do just that: rewind the game to a previous area where you messed up or simply think you can do things better. The save feature is self-explanatory too: take saved films from multiplayer matches and share them with your friends on XBL.

So there you go.
