Dragon’s Dogma 2 is in development over at Capcom, and series creator Hideaki Itsuno has revealed the first snippets of information. Did someone say ‘quest creation’? More after the jump.

Dragon’s Dogma director Hideaki Itsuno has said you may wish to hold on to your copy of the game for a bit longer. Speaking in an interview with 4Gamer, Itsuno said: “I’m sure many have already cleared the game, but for Dragon’s Dogma, we’re continuing to prepare new play elements. It would be best if you held on to the game for a bit.” Itsuno also said reaction to the game were better than expected, so the developers would like to push it even further and should the fans support it, he would like to make “the next title.” Thanks, Andriasang.

Capcom Japan has announced that Dragon’s Dogma has shipped 1 million units worldwide.

Media Create has released its weekly retail chart for Japan, and Capcom’s RPG Dragon’s Dogma demolished the software chart with 302,040 units sold on PS3 and 29,024 units sold on Xbox 360. Mario Tennis Open, which was also a new release for the period, came in second with 102,000 units sold. On the hardware side, 3DS moved 55,212 and Vita sales were up slightly over last week with 6,675 units moved – otherwise, hardware sales were relatively flat week-over-week.

Dragon’s Dogma director Hideaki Itsuno has detailed how quests and information from NPCs in the game will come to you, detailing how you pretty much don’t have to break your back to go out and find it.

When Dragon’s Dogma was announced, many in the gaming community felt Capcom missed out on the opportunity to add co-op elements, especially once the pawn system was revealed. However, producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi said the team never considered adding co-op, or multiplayer for that matter, for a couple of reasons.

Capcom has released the third developer diary for Dragon’s Dogma, which focuses on the more detail oriented aspects of development such as the fully-voiced NPCs and the thousands of lines of dialog. The game is out later this month on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Capcom has announced an encounter mode for Dragon’s Dogma in which players and their pawns can log onto PSN or XBL and compete collectively online in “an asynchronous encounter” against the dreaded Ur-Dragon.

Sony Japan has released a new video showing various scenes from Dragon’s Dogma. There’s loads of fighting, walking dramatically through town, chatting with peasants, and choosing which pawns will fight alongside of you. A demo for the game is out today on PS3 in the US and globally through Xbox Live Gold. The PS3 demo will land in Europe during the regularly scheduled PSN update tomorrow, April 25.

Microsoft’s decided to team up with Capcom for the release of its brand new chrome series of Xbox 360 controllers in Japan. The new peripherals will ship with DLC codes for Capcom’s upcoming RPG title Dragon’s Dogma.
