January 2012 PSN Top Sellers – NFL Blitz, Back to Karkand, FFVII, Corpse Party
Sony has released its monthly list of best-selling PSN, PSP and PS3 titles purchased through the PS Store, and the top titles for the month of January were NFL Blitz, the Back to Karkand map pack for BF3, Final Fantasy VII, and Corpse Party.

Corpse Party to release in Europe
XSEED has confirmed it intends to bring PSP horror adventure Corpse Party to the European PlayStation Network following its US release, but couldn’t give an ETA. The publisher has also expressed interest in bringing sequel Book of Shadows to English-speakers. Corpse Party is a long-running multimedia franchise which began as an amateur effort in RPG Maker, and is famous for its gruesome player deaths.

PSA: Corpse Party releases on US PSN today
XSEED has posted a reminder on the US PS Blog, that the horror-adventure Corpse Party is available for download on PSP. The game will run you $19.99, and tasks you with rescuing your friends from a “dangerously haunted” school building. Hopefully, you can not only prevent your friends’ deaths, but find a way out before it’s too late. Originally slated for a Halloween release, a delay for the game was announced earlier this month.

XSEED teasing creepy new horror title
XSEED has dropped two trailers for an unannounced game expected in the US in autumn. One features localisation manager Tom Lipschultz in full on creeper mode, but more tellingly, another shows off art and teases a story strongly reminiscent of Corpse Party, an amateur game made in RPG Maker and later professionally ported to PSP.
An XSEED comment left on Siliconera doesn’t deny the connection.
