CNET names VG247 third top gaming blog in the world
CNET gadget blog Crave has named VG247 the third top gaming blog in the world.
Gawker’s Kotaku was named as number one, with AOL’s Joystiq coming second.
“This certainly has the most momentum of all the UK blogs on this list, having recently scooped three gongs at the Games Media Awards,” said the site.
“They were well-deserved too: the writing is excellent, and it covers all the important news with a twist of humour.”
We’re so awesome. Hit the link for the full list. Thanks, PySk!

CNET calls this generation, makes hilarious graph
CNET has published an article on how this hardware generation is likely to play out, creating a graph which sums up the conclusions of most sensible pundits in a way words never could. Take a look for yourself. In a nutshell, the site predicts that both PS3 and Wii will top 105 million units a piece by 2012, while Xbox 360 will be lucky to reach 40 million. Shane probably had a point.

Gerstmann sacker sacked from Gamespot
Kotaku’s reporting that Josh Larson, CNET’s VP of games, will be leaving after some “restructuring”.
While never officially implicated for the firing of Gamespot’s Jeff Gerstmann last year in the now infamous – and nuclear – Gerstmanngate Kane & Lynch review scandal, insiders have made it clear that Larson was responsible for blurring the line between editorial and marketing teams at the site.
According to an internal memo, “new management structure means that Josh Larson’s position as VP, Games is being eliminated and Josh will be leaving the company.”
His last day will be April 9.
