Black Ops 2 sold over 1 million copies during its midnight launch at GameStop alone, the retailer’s president Tony Bartel told Bloomberg via email. Analyst Michael Olson, according to Gamespot, has estimated the game sold between 6.5 million and 7.2 million units day-one sales, which would rival Modern Warfare 3′s day-one 6.5 million units last year. The Infinity Ward developed title generated $775 million in revenue its first five days on the market, eventually hitting $1 billion in 16 days of availability.

Black Ops 2 sold over 10,000 copies on launch day through Blockbuster stores in the UK.

Call of Duty Elite subscribers who activated their accounts on launch day, will be receiving an extra three months of service, and Activision email has stated. The extension is the firm’s way of apologizing for service outages at Modern Warfare 3′s launch. Initially, subscribers were to receive one moth free, but now they shall have three in total instead. Elite services will be offered for free when Black Ops 2 launches on November 13. Thanks, Shack.

A Call of Duty teaser video has appeared on the game’s official YouTube channel. Many speculate it has something to do with zombies for Black Ops 2, which Treyarch has teased, hinted at, dangled, and sort of confirmed on and off since the game was announced. Zombies are going to part of the game somehow, now, whether that is just in multiplayer, or single-player, or hell, both, remains to be seen for now. Trent Reznor is the composer being the theme music for Black Ops II, according to USA Today. “I have always looked to that franchise as the cutting edge of what seemingly unlimited budgets and full-on not cutting any corners can do in the current day and age,” said the Nine Inch Nails frontman. “There is a lot of reservation and angst and sense of loss and regret and anger bubbling under the surface, so it didn’t make sense to have a gung ho patriotic feeling kind of theme song. It has to feel weighty.” Reznor’s previous game credits include Quake and originally Doom 3 until he had to leave the project.
