DeepSilver, a division of Koch Media, will release the upcoming add-on for the PC version of Sacred 2 on August 28 in Germany.

Ascaron, it closed its doors a few weeks ago due to bankruptsy, and the subsidiary company of Ascaron: Studio 2 closed shop on July 31.

Ascaron still working on Sacred 2 add-on

Ascaron still owns the license to Sacred, and it was not part of the IPs that Kalypso recently purchased from the troubled company.
According to the Sacred message boards, community manager Anca Adelina Finta stated:
“Studio 2 (subsidiary company of Ascaron) has the license for Sacred 2 and the devs will continue working at the add-on as they did before. In a nutshell, the add-on is not affected by anything and will come as planned.”
Good news for fans of the series.
Thanks, BigDownload.

Kalypso Media forms Gaming Minds Studios with parts of Ascaron

Kalypso Media has announced the formation of Gaming Minds Studios, which includes former Ascaron developers and titles.
Ascaron filed for bankruptcy April and Kalypso purchased parts of the troubled company, particularly the rights to develop The Patrician III.
“For Kalypso, this move is not just an expansion of our own studio capacities, but will also allow us greater independence in our games development,” said Kalypso managing director, Stefan Marcinek.
“We currently have four new titles scheduled for release in 2010 which are being developed in our Munich and Gütersloh studios.”

VO virgin Rob Purchese is “magnificent talent,” says Sacred 2 dev
Eurogamer news chap Rob Purchese clearly isn’t just a pretty face. As seen in this EGTV video, the writer’s done voiceover for three of Sacred 2′s characters – a jester, a little green man thing and an old chap – and his performance has pretty much knocked out the development team.
“I think Rob’s a magnificent talent,” said Ascaron’s Alan Wild. “His delivery was superb, and the range of voices was just incredible.”
Take a look. The game’s out for PC and 360 later this year, with a PS3 version following in early 2009.

After the drop. Ascaron has released a new trailer for Sacred 2 at the Games Convention in Leipzig and we reckon it looks pretty decent. The vid boasts over 500 quests and four player co-op. Impressive.
The RPG is due out on 360 and PS3 this autumn.
