CD Projekt says leaked video came out of Russian event IGROMIR

CD Projekt RED has officially commented on the shaky cam footage of The Witcher 2 that was leaked onto the internet this week.
Apparently, photographs and filming were not allowed, but we kind of figured that out -what with that chair in the way and all.
“Unfortunately, I have to confirm that the video which appeared a few days ago on the Internet is indeed a presentation of The Witcher 2,” said CEO Adam Kiciński. “It’s a video of a demonstration of the game during the so-called business days of the IGROMIR game expo in Russia.
“It was a closed demonstration for business partners, representatives of the biggest trade chains and a handful of chosen journalists – one of many such demonstrations CD Projekt RED has been doing in various countries. Unfortunately, despite a declared ban on filming and photography at all such events, someone managed to shoot a video at IGROMIR. Just like last time, we will not comment on that.
“Simultaneously, we can assure you that all confirmed information will be revealed soon after the game is officially announced.”
In case you missed the video, it’s posted here.

Witcher 2: Geralt’s voice in leaked video is not the final product

Good news coming out of the official CD Projekt RED forums has revealed that the voice-over for Geralt ever one heard in the leaked video earlier this week is not the final version.
Good to know. It just did not seem right.
Here is the official explanation from CD Projekt’s CEO Adam Kiciński:
“After seeing the video many of you worried about the quality of voiceovers and the different voices used by lead characters. We’re proud that our team members can imitate native English actors so well that some people would even consider these VOs being part of the final product
. However, we are not planning to change RED into the world’s first non-native recording studio for English movies and games by using non-native non-actors. Don’t worry, we’ll stay in our day jobs. The voices in the video are not in any way final, and were only created for the purposes of the video. By the way – personally, I don’t like Geralt’s voice in this movie either
.”
Smiley faces were inserted by Adam, not us.
