50 Cent and others lending voices to Modern Warfare 2

fiddycent

50 Cent has lent his voice to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, according to his official website.

Confirmed by Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward, the rapper is one of a few “casual cameos in the game, none of which I can name at this point,” said Bowling.

Fiddy’s site shows him at the studios playing the game with Benji and Joel of the band Good Charlotte who Bowling assures just “came along with him when he was here recently to check out his voice in the game.”

When playing multiplayer, participants will hear his voice spout the words and phrases: “Reloading,” “Watch your fire,” “I’m down, get me up!” and “Tango Down!” according to Bowling.

Hopefully he and whomever else has a cameo will do just as good of a job as Gary Oldman and Jack Bauer Keifer Sutherland did in World at War.

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand sells 1/12 of Bulletproof

50centbloodonthesanda4

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand has sold a twelfth of the previous title in the series, 50 Cent: Bulletproof.

Released in February, the game has sold approximately 56,000 copies  in the US since April, and during the same time span, Bulletproof boasted 681,000 copies sold with 1,123,000 units in it’s lifetime.

Blood on the Sand garnered better reviews than the 2005 outing, receiving a Metacritic score of 71 compared to 47, and has been described as “a guilty pleasure” by gaming critics.

THQ hasn’t issued a comment on the figures, but it is being speculated that the Activision Vivendi merger may have put a damper on consumer expectations.

50 Cent to option Saints Row movie rights

saintsrow213

50 Cent has apparently just said he wants to make a Saints Row movie.

“With my relationship with THQ, they’ll actually see me develop Saint’s Row into an actual screeplay and into a film project,” he told US journalists.

“I’m optioning the rights for that right now, so they’ll see that before they see me do it from my own perspective for my game.”

Sounds great. More on Kotaku.

Fiddy: Blood in the Sand is “one of the more exciting projects I’m involved in”

50centbloodonthesanda5

Fiddy loves the games, yo. In the video interview after the break, the rap superstar says upcoming actioner 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is one of the best things he’s doing right now.

“This… for me is one of the more exciting projects that I’m involved in,” he said.

“I can’t wait till the public has an opportunity to actually play it.”

The game looks amazing. And stupid. Amazingly stupid, in fact. It’s out this Friday.

“Ghostbusters will be published,” says Randel

ghostbusters.jpg

In wake of the recent news that Ghostbusters: The Videogame has been put out to tender, Terminal Reality boss Mark Randel told videogaming247 today that the game will be published.

“Ghostbusters will be published,” said Randel. “That’s all I can say at the moment.”

Ghostbusters wasn’t the only Sierra casualty of the Activision Blizzard merger, with 50 Cent, World in Conflict and Brütal Legend all having to find new publishers as a result of the deal.
