EG seem to just want to give all horror games a 7/10. Except Dead Space 2. Which was actually a 7/10 game rather than the 9/10 of the original.

If you think deadspace 2 was a 7/10 game,you have no clue about gaming mate..best survival horror series to date,without a doubt.

Aside from the better graphics over the first one it was just an action game that by the end had grown tired and started chucking baddies at you in waves. The story was gone, the lore was scant and the scares were minimal. The original was full to the brim of story, strong combat, brilliant atmosphere and so much to different things to do and read and listen too.

It was a great successor to System Shock, but Dead Space 2 left the unique ideas behind in it’s quest to become a third person shooter.

Dead space 2 was a good game. 7-8 is the best score for it when you don’t innovate or move on with the genre forward.

and it’s not the best. Dead space 1 was a very good survival horror action 8.0-8.5 score is perfect for it, but second game just made more of the same and more which i can’t say that it’s bad… But Dead Space 2 lost atmosphere from the first game for example. Still it was a solid experience and i enjoyed it and i want a third game.

But,

Real survival horror is “Amnesia: The Dark Descent”. This game is a REAL Survival horror. Dead Space does not come close or anything this generation.

Once in a while I play RE4 on my old Gamecube. In the dark. With headphones. That still gives me the creeps.

sorry but i always found dead space quite mediocre -_-

I love Dead Space, but Silent Hill 1-3 are the best survival horror has. Even better than System Shock 2. Which is grand praise from me.

Condemned was also not bad in some cases.

If we are talking about all generations then yeah… First Silent Hill series, Amnesia: the Dark Descent, 1-2 Resident Evil games, first alone in the dark and Call OF chulthu are probably the best in the genre.

Well I’m looking forward to my copy. I love the humor and artstyle, if the gameplay is good, I’m happy :>
