USstreamer: Bob Samples the Game Boy Advance's US Launch Lineup [Now Archived on YouTube!]

Tune in for a tour of the first games available for the GBA when it debuted in America 15 years ago.

This article first appeared on USgamer, a partner publication of VG247. Some content, such as this article, has been migrated to VG247 for posterity after USgamer's closure - but it has not been edited or further vetted by the VG247 team.

Once again, I regret to inform you something that doesn't seem all that old actually is: This Saturday marks the 15th birthday of the Game Boy Advance—in America, at least—which launched on June 11, 2001.

In retrospect, the GBA was an incredibly short-lived system—it would only be a little over three years before Nintendo changed the portable game forever with the DS. And while the early GBA models had their problems, this powerful handheld managed to build an impressive library before slipping of to Hardware Heaven. To celebrate the GBA's legacy, on today's USgamer livestream I'll be checking out some its earliest US releases for a solid hour. And, thanks to the march of technology, you won't need to be standing under direct sunlight to see them! Sometimes, the future can be pretty neat.

It all starts on USgamer's Twitch.tv channel today at 12:30pm PT/3:30pm ET—or you can stay on this page and watch the stream from here. And if you can't make it, don't worry; our streams are always backed up on our YouTube channel. And if you're reading this after the stream has already happened, you'll see that version embedded below.
