Yakuza 5 petition asks Sega to localise gangster RPG

20130319_yakuza_5_petition

A new fan campaign has been launched to try and pressure Sega into producing a localisation for the PlayStation 3-exclusive Yakuza 5. All previous games in the series have been released in the west, usually after a long delay, and in very small quantities – so it’s a fair bet that we can expect some decision on the December 2012 Japan release soon. It’s also worth noting that Sega itself uses social networks to gauge interest in localisations. Do the Like and Share thing here.

Thanks, Gematsu.

Yakuza 5 trailers retain Nagoshi’s signature bombast

20121112_yakuza 5

The Yakuza series has a long narrative tail, spelled out in dramatic cut-scenes. Familiarising yourself with the events of just one game’s twists and turns will give you a working knowledge of gangster Japanese, so tune into over 17 minutes of incomprehensible trailer if that’s what floats your boat.

Nagoshi teases “Project A,” which is probably Yakuza 5

nagoshi project a

A new splash page has appeared this morning, teasing what appears to be the next game from Binary Domain creator Toshihiro Nagoshi and Yakuza Studio. And that’s pretty much it. All we know is it’s something called “Project A.” Besides Binary Domain, Nagoshi and his team are also working on Yakuza: Black Panther 2 for PSP and Yakuza 5 for PS3. We’re going long and saying this is for Y5. There’s a reason the Yakuza website is mentioned but not Binary Domain, right?

Thanks, AGB.
