Microsoft has updated its Xbox Live content schedule, and the goodies start off today with the latest Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning DLC, Teeth of Naros as well as Games on Demand titles Kinect Joy Ride, Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2012, NHL 12, and X-Blades.

If women wearing very little clothing and wielding swords is your thing, a demo for X-Blades is now available on Xbox Live.

It’s been out since February, so we’ve no idea why the demo has just gone live.

After the break. Back in February last year, SouthPeak said “the 3rd-person ‘hack-em-up’ genre needs a fresh perspective and X-Blades is poised to deliver it.” A lofty promise indeed.

However, if these new screenshots are anything to go by, we might just start believing it.

SouthPeak Games just announced X-Blades, “a dynamic third-person hack-and-slash action title for next-gen consoles and PC, due for release in late 2008.”

X-Blades features an anime-style heroine and guns, blades and magic. We’ve never heard of anything like it ever before.
