According to a post over on CheapAssGamer, a source as told the site Walmart plans to drop the price of 3DS on August 9, which is three days before the official price drop goes into effect. Providing the information is true, it could presumably allow purchasers to download the 20 free downloadable games as part of the Ambassador’s Program because they would be purchasing the handhled before the price drop is official on August 11. Thanks, GameFront.

Rumor has it that this Saturday, Walmart plans to hand customers a $100 gift card when they purchase an Xbox 360 Arcade system for $199.
That’s basically getting the console for $99, and you can use the card for groceries, games, Christmas presents, or whatever else tickles your fancy.
Supposedly, the big box store will also have the Sony Blu-ray player on sale for $148.
Keep this as rumor until Walmart releases its weekly sales flier on Wednesday.

During an interview with MSNBC – posted below the break – NOA’s Reggie Fils-Aime revealed that the DSi has moved 2.2 million in North America alone.
That’s a massive amount, there.
Reggie also let slip that Walmart is the company’s biggest customer, when asked who its largest retail partner was.
“On a retail basis, certainly from my region which is Canada, the US, and Latin America,” said Fils-Aime, “Walmart is my biggest customer.”
It’s probably because more families shop at the beast of Bentonville than their local game stores, because you can get your potatoes and paper towels alongside the latest Professor Layton instead of making separate trips.
