Ultima Forever: Quest for the Avatar is BioWare Mythic and EA Mobile’s tribute to the classic RPG Ultima IV. It’s still not clear whether it’s a sequel, a re-imagining, or an altogether different beast, but now we know what it looks like in action.

Ultima Forever – Ultima 4 remake chosen over Ultima 7 due to limited resources
Ultima Forever creative director Paul Barnett has said the team at BioWare chose to remake Ultima 4 due to the team’s affection of for the original, and the fact that resources were limited.

Ultima Forever: BioWare explains free-to-play model
Ultima Forever is currently in development at BioWare and although it’s a free-to-play game, the studio is keen to stress that playing free won’t come with play time restrictions or other nasty blockades.

Ultima reboot is pure BioWare, ‘focus on story and choice’
Ultima Forever: Quest for the Avatar may be in the hands of new developer BioWare, but it won’t be a basic dungeon crawler. Executive producer Jeff Skalski has revealed that it will be a classic BioWare game through and through. Let’s hope the ending’s up to scratch then.

BioWare reveals cross-platform F2P RPG Ultima Forever
EA BioWare has announced it’s restoring “the first great Western RPG” in Ultima Forever: Quest for the Avatar, giving players the chance to return to the series in a cross-platform RPG.
