Skyrim – Sony “working closely” with Bethesda to get DLC working
Skyrim DLC has been absent of late on PS3 of late due to some technical issues, and Sony has said it’s doing everything it can to help Bethesda get the content working on the console.

Skyrim getting mounted combat via free update
Bethesda has announced mounted combat for Skyrim via a free title update. Those who have the game on Steam should make sure the beta version is up to date and try it out. No date just yet, but it will land on consoles as well. Patch notes can be found on the Bethesda Blog. There’s also a video of it in action below, courtesy of RipTen.

Bethesda has posted a quick note informing Skyrim players testing out the patch on Steam that an update is available.

Bethesda reconfirms PS3 issues in Skyrim will be addressed with Update 1.4
Bethesda has taken to Twitter to assure PS3 users experiencing stuttering and lag in Skyrim that the issues will be addressed with the release of Update 1.4. The issues occur with the PS3 version as save files age. Users were hoping framerate issues would be fixed with Update 1.3 in December, but Bethesda said at the time the issues would be fixed in the next release. The latest patch is expected sometime this month.

Skyrim patch: Resistance breaking bug found, some PS3 users still have lag
It looks as though some players are still experiencing some lag issues in Skyrim on PS3, even after applying the patch released on Monday. Furthermore, both PS3 and Xbox 360 users are reporting the patch came with a new bug, which causes players to take full damage from hits despite any applied resistances.

Skyrim patch expected week after Thanksgiving
Bethesda’s Pete Hines has stated over Twitter that folks can expect patches for Skyrim to hit the week after Thanksgiving. According to his tweet on the matter, the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions have been submitted for certification, and one for PC is “coming too.” No word just yet on what all be included in the patch notes, if past experience is any indication, expect the firm to post a list a few days before the patch goes live. Skyrim video showcases spells and combat animations, pre-loading now available
Bethesda has released a new video for Skyrim, showing the various magic spells and combat animations with the game. It also gives you a glimpse into the game’s skill tree. Before you watch it though, if you pre-purchased the game via Direct2Drive or Steam, you can now pre-load the game. Just an FYI, ya know. The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is out Friday, a measly two days from now. Still feels like ages, though.

Skyrim release day babies eligible for Bethesda’s reward [Update]
Bethesda has apparently offered a reward to any parents willing to give birth on Skyrim’s release day who subsequently name their child Dovahkiin – “Dragonborn”.
