God Eater 2 online multiplayer on the cards
Namco bandai hasn’t yet decided whether to support online multipler for God Eater 2. In a series of tweets translated by Gematsu, producer Yusuke Tomizawa said the Monster Hunter-like title currently supports ad-hoc and PS3 ad-hoc party, “but there are plans to talk about online specifications sometime in the future”. God Eater 2 is the sequel to PSP RPG Gods Eater Burst; it’s due in Japan on PSP and Vita later this year. The original supported only ad-hoc multiplayer modes. Somewhat related: there has been talk that the 3G version of the Vita may be discontinued, meaning online play would only be possible over WiFi anyway.

God Eater 2 will allow save transfers
God Eater 2 will allow you to import items from your Gods Eater Burst save file, although not your character. Siliconera reports the amount of items you’ll be able to import will vary depending on your completion and play time, so if you’re hanging out for the follow-up it’s probably a good idea to invest some more time in the original. God Eater 2 is the sequel to the game released in the west as Gods Eater Burst; it has not been confirmed for localisation, but hits Japan sometime later this year, on PSP and Vita.

Gods Eater Burst – the more attentive among you may notice the “English” title has gained a significant plural – is one of those hunter-type PSP games, viewed through a veil of apparent madness. Siliconera got their hands on the localisation and dragged out a pile of new gameplay info.

Internet connection for Need for Speed: SHIFT on PC is not “mandatory”

The release of Need for Speed: SHIFT is just around the corner, and EA released the minimum spec requirements for the PC version yesterday.
It’s posted again below the break in case you missed it before.
However, Blues News contacted EA to find out why an internet connection was listed as mandatory, and were told that it’s only mandatory if you choose play online.
The game will use SecuROM for a disc check with no online component, however, an online authentication for software updates and online play will take place should you choose to take your skillz to the internets.
