Raspberry Pi has been making the headline in recent weeks, after Google snapped up 15,000 of the micro-computers for UK schools last month. A new, cheaper model has gone on sale across Europe from today, coming in at just $25.

Computer science added to UK’s English Baccalaureate qualification
Computer science has been added to Britain’s English Baccalaureate (EBacc) qualification. The move was announced by Education Secretary, Michael Gove, who confirmed that it would be added alongside biology, chemistry and physics. Students working towards an EBacc can choose any three of the four sciences to meet the requirements of the qualification.

Raspberry Pi: Google buys 15,000 computers for UK schools
Google has snapped up 15,000 Raspberry Pi computers for use in UK schools. Google chairman Eric Schmidt has stated that access to affordable computing in schools is the key to driving the future of Britain’s innovation, and that the training of technically-minded people is a key concern of the company.
