Pokémon X & Y is the game of the moment, and what better way to become acquainted with or reintroduced to series than a video giving you a overview of the franchise’s history which started with Game Boy. At the Nintendo World Store in New York, the video – which shows gameplay footage mixed alongside a walkthrough – plays at the Pokémon display area and today you can have a watch from the comfort of your own computer chair below. GAME and other High Street retailers in the UK have broken the Pokémon X & Y street date a day early. According to various sources contacted by MCV, GAME went so far as to send text messages out to those who pre-ordered, telling them to stop in and pick the game up. Apparently since one retailer broke the street date, the others are jumping on the bandwagon. Surely, Nintendo will be very displeased over this. Pokémon X & Y is set to release tomorrow alongside the new 2DS.
Below is a live-action launch trailer. We think it’s new. Enjoy regardless.

The Pokémon Company has registered US trademarks for Pokétretta Battles and Pokétretta Tournament for use with video games, which as Siliconera notes, are likely connected to Pokémon Tretta Lab – the 3DS game which scans Marvelous AQL Tretta discs. Pokémon Tretta Lab was released on August 10 in Japan bundled with Eevee, Mewtwo, Lucario and Pichu cards.
