Starting today for the next five weeks, Sony is giving away two free PlayStation Mobile games each week. The offerings will be updated every Wednesday, and the first two available are Passing Time and Rymdkapsel. All you need to get in on the deals is the PlayStation Mobile App for your Vita or PlayStation Certified smartphone or tablet. The free games deal runs through December 18 and starts back up January 8 – 22. More information through the link.

Sony has announced it will launch the PlayStation Store for PlayStation Mobile in nine new countries starting December 18. This brings the PS Store to mobile users in total to 18 countries including Japan, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, as well as in newly added countries including Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and New Zealand. Prior to the PS Store expansion, Sony will offer the PSM Developer Program which includes distribution of the official PSM SDK in the newly added countries starting December 5.

Mobile RPG Chaos Rings has launched on Sony’s PlayStation Mobile platform, meaning it is available for any PlayStation Certified device. This iOS success story includes Xperia smartphones, some HTC smartphones and, of course, the Vita. The Vita version takes full advantage of the console’s traditional controls, if that’s your bag. You can grab it from the PlayStation Store. No word yet on whether the sequel will make the jump.

EA-owned mobile publisher Chillingo has signed up for PlayStation Mobile, a free publishing platform compatible with PlayStation 3, Vita and selected Android smartphones and tablets. Polygon reports Chillingo kicked off the partnership with the launch of Feed Me Oil, which originally released on iDevice in late 2011. Chillingo first published Angry Birds, although it does not own the property, and was acquired by EA in 2010.
