The 2011 version of Mortal Kombat has turned up on the Steam registry, as spotted by DSO Gaming, with all achievements from the console versions intact. Although it’s pretty reliable, the Steam registry is spotted with placeholders and experiments which fail to pan out – like Halo 3 – so don’t get too excited. We’ve asked Warner Bros. what’s up; a PC release seems like a pretty solid idea.

Amazon UK has listed Mortal Kombat for PC on its website, and it has it down as Mortal Kombat GOTY. Spotted by Evil Avatar, the listing for PC could mean one of two things: it’s coming to Windows, or Amazon made a booboo. We’ll send Warner a mail and ask, so until we know something for sure, write it down as a rumor for now.

Registrations are now being accepted for the Evo 2013 championships which take place at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino in Nevada. You can pick up your pass through the website, which details each price package. The championships will be held on the weekend of July 12, with the main event being held at the Bally’s Event Center and Grand Ballroom. Games included in the championships are: Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition, Street Fighter X Tekken 2013 Edition, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat, The King of Fighters 13, Persona 4 Arena, and Super Smash Bros. Major League Gaming has announced Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur V players will be competing live on April 28 in the Fighting Game Arena, during which 16 players will vie for a position in the top eight and $3,400 in prizes. The competition will be broadcast live online from 2.00-9.45pm EDT through the MLG website. Following the Arena, the season will culminate with the Spring Championship June 8-10 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Here, top gamers will compete playing Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur V, and King of Fighters XIII on PS3. Format details, prizing, rules and competition formats for each game will be announced in the coming weeks.

GameTrailers has gone live with a trailer which features some of the klassic costumes which’ll be available for the PlayStation Vita version of Mortal Kombat.
