Ghostbusters budget between $15 and $20 million

The Star Telegram has revealed that Terminal Reality’s Ghostbusters: The Videogame had a budget of somewhere between 15 and 20 million dollars.
“The videogame has already achieved “blockbuster” status with an estimated 1 million units sold,” says the article.
“Terminal Reality’s videogame was the product of years of planning and execution, thousands of hours of work [and] a final budget of USD 15 million – USD 20 million.”
Terminal Reality boss Randel would love to make a film on the rumoured third film, too: “You can bet that if that movie were to come out, we’d just love to do another Ghostbusters game based on it,” he said.
Thanks, Euro-gamer.

“It will be a huge Ghostbusters week!” says Terminal Reality boss
Speaking to videogaming247, Terminal Reality chief Mark Randel confirmed the news that Ghostbusters: The videogame will release in June and declared: “It will be a huge Ghostbusters week!”
“Yes, that is correct, we have always been planning day and date release with the Blu-ray discs,” said Mark.
“It will be a huge Ghostbusters week!”
As to whether we will see any kind of special edition Blu Ray movie/game box set, Randel said: “I cannot comment about the contents of a special version of the game other that it’s still in the planning stages…”
Ghostbusters was recently snapped up by Atari after being put out to tender by Activision last year.

Ghostbusters boss “excited” by Atari plans
After telling VG247 that “Ghostbusters will be published!” back in August, Terminal Reality boss Mark Randel feels great now that Atari has officially picked up the game and given it a June 2009 release date.
“We’re doing great and can’t wait for people to play the game,” said Randel when asked how the team felt now that things were all sorted.
“We are excited that Atari chose to release it to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Ghostbusters as it allows us to give the game even more polish.”
In case you’ve been asleep this year, Ghostbusters was put out to tender during the Activision Blizzard merger.
This led to Gamestop cancelling pre-orders and refunding people’s money: not good at all.
Still, all’s well that ends well.

“Ghostbusters will be published,” said Randel. “That’s all I can say at the moment.”
Ghostbusters wasn’t the only Sierra casualty of the Activision Blizzard merger, with 50 Cent, World in Conflict and Brütal Legend all having to find new publishers as a result of the deal.
