Shootmania Storm, like all the Mania titles, is bang behind user generated content. The new beta map editor is detailed in the trailer through the break, and it’s really worth a look if you have even the slightest interest in shooter level design.

According to the ManiaPlanet blog, Nadeo’s second iteration on the ManiaPlanet service has gone into alpha. The online tech will be the backbone of the Shootmania, Trackmania and Questmania families, and the developer is already priming users with the knowledge they’ll need to build the franchise’s celebrated user generated content with the new toolset. Ubisoft has let sleip a few scant details on ShootMania Storm, the second entry in Nadeo’s ManiaPlanet series after TrackMania. The online FPS will feature the ManiaPlanet label’s characteristic customisation options, allowing players to create, edit and share maps. No release date as yet, but an open beta is expected in the next few months. Hit the break for a bit of shiny art.

Fresh off it’s beta date drop last night, Ubisoft has announced TrackMania 2: Canyon will be released on September 14. The beta starts August 17, and if you pre-order the game for $24.99 or £19.99, you’ll have instant access to all sorts of goodies. Hit the link above for more on the beta and the pre-order incentive.
