Nintendo has updated its eShop and DSiWare offerings this week with 3D Classics: Kid Icarus ($5.99), and I Must Run! ($1.99), respectively, along with the season two premiere of Dinosaur Office (free) on Nintendo Video.

Nintendo has announced how to discover and collect hundreds of special AR Cards to use with Kid Icarus: Uprising, which feature characters, enemies, bosses, weapons and other items which appear in the game.

Nintendo’s announced it’ll launch the original Kid Icarus for the European eShop as of this coming Thursday for £4.50. The title was previously only available from eShop as part of those who’d registered two Nintendo games, but is now yours for £4.50 as three days time. There’s also the release of DSiWare titles, such as
Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon.

It has huge environments and, according to Nathan on our liveblog, it has a “beautiful sense of scale.”

It’s been nearly a year since anyone from Nintendo tossed around the words “Kid” and “Icarus,” and we’d by lying if we said our hope engines weren’t running on fumes at this point.

But just when we were ready to give in to despair, along came Yoshio Sakamoto, who just happens to be one of the original Kid Icarus’ creators.

During E3, Shigeru Miyamoto was asked by Nintendo Power if there were plans to bring a new Kid Icarus to Wii or DS.

“Wait, please. I’m really surprised how popular that is,” Miyamoto told the mag. “But you are the first person to ask at this E3!”

Kid Icarus Wii rumors and concept art have been floating around since 2008.

Just be patient folks. Really.

This will no doubt be taken as meaning Kid Icarus is going to be announced for Wii tomorrow, but read into it what you will. As you can see in the movie after the break, IGN’s Matt “Icarus” Casamassina has dressed himself and one of his cohorts up in armour and posted a movie on the web entitled “Deadline.” This turned up in our newsreader as, “What?”

According to this NintendoEverything piece, Kid Icarus Wii has surfaced on an Australian retail listing.

Practically confirmed. It may as well be real. IGN’s been banging on about this for months now, so it’s probably true. And now it’s on an Australian shop list, so it’s almost released. Almost.

Kombo‘s got what is claimed to be some concept art from the upcoming Kid Icarus game for Wii.

Apparently the images are part of a 2008 pitch process to Nintendo from Factor 5. Sounds, and looks, legit. Go see.

IGN’s Matt Casamassina has said yet again that a new Kid Icarus game is going to be shown at E3 this year.

“Of course [Nintendo is] going to have some E3 surprises,” said the longstanding editor in a podcast. “You know, Kid Icarus, for crying out loud, how many times do we have to say Kid Icarus? Kid Icarus is coming for crying out loud.”

Later on in the chat, Casamassina added, “”Kid Icarus, that’s another one that I’m really anticipating just because I love the franchise and I’m sure that the developer will make a really pretty game.”

This isn’t the first time Matt’s mentioned the game. Just Google “casamassina kid icarus” to see what we mean.

According to Cubed3, Nintendo’s American annual Media Summit will take place next Thursday, April 10. The event is used to show off forthcoming games for the year, so it’s definitely one to watch. Kid Icarus is the favourite for a rehash this year, but, as the site points out, you’ll probabyl have to wait until E3 in July for any major announcements.
