Home director Buser to talk at Engage! Expo
PlayStation Home director Jack Buser (pictured left) is to talk at the Engage! Expo in New York on March 10-11..
Surprisingly, the Engage! Expo isn’t a huge Jean Luc Picard look-a-like competition, it is in actual fact the old Virtual Worlds Conference.
The Expo “is the event for youth and young adult brands, media and agencies to meet and learn how to combine their existing online efforts with the unparalleled engagement opportunities and new revenue streams of the 2D and 3D Web and Virtual Worlds,” says the official site.
The content of his seminar are unknown but here’s hoping Buser will announce some new features.
Thanks, PS3F.

Sony officially announces Home launch
Home’s here, Sony’s announced in a note on the PS Blog, confirming that the little logo is now available in the XMB of all PS3 owners worldwide.

“So to all of you that have tested, from all of us on the PlayStation Home team here at Sony: ‘Thank You!’”
Home launched earlier this evening in what appeared to be a smooth roll-out, although the app is experiencing some connection issues.

Buser: “Something like Home has never been done before”
Jack Buser, US director for Home, has claimed the now-launched social app is unique.
“Something like Home has never been done before,” he told VentureBeat. “It’s a massive undertaking.”
Home launched tonight, apparently smoothly despite some connection hiccups. Buser pointed out that Home is a trail-blazing endeavour.
“When you deal as a platform like this, you’re blazing new paths with technology and business,” he added. “There was a lot of heavy lifting.
“Now we’re rolling it out and it’s something that can’t be experienced anywhere else. It’s not a game. With a game, you create it, launch it and you’re done. Home is a platform.
“A lot of the things will be created by third-party partners. You’ll see a lot of people beyond Sony. We had to do all of those application programming interfaces so they could do that.”
Lots more through there. Hopefully the connections issues will be sorted soon.
