Speaking with MTV Multiplayer last week, Bizarre Creations dev Stephen Cakebread said that the team has “enough game ideas to do Geometry Wars for probably about ten games.”
According to the piece, a small team at Bizzare “is now focused on working on the future of Geometry Wars, though future plans are secret.”
Manager Craig Howard added: “Geometry Wars is definitely a franchise, it’s not going to stop.”

Speaking to 1UP, Bizarre Creation’s Craig Howard has said that although next week’s Geometry Wars 2 will be exclusive to Live for now, PSN’s going to get love in some shape or form from the developer in the future.
“Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2 is currently an Xbox 360 exclusive title, although PSN is definitely in our company plans going forward,” he said.
There’s nothing in the interview as to what PSN may be getting from the Gotham-maker. See for yourself.

There’s a video on CVG of Geometry Wars 2 being played by more than one person. At least, that’s what it says it is. We can’t get it to load. Maybe you’ll have more luck than us.
Game’s out next week.

Joystiq has the scoop on Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2, the true, Bizarre-developed sequel to the original Geometry Wars.
The game will release for XBLA on August 6. Along with a “remixed” version of the original game, Retro Evolved 2 features five brand new modes in which to splatter your pixelated foes. They are: Waves, Pacifism, King, Deadline, and Sequence, with each mode allowing for up to four players in local multiplayer.
Additionally, the game features an interesting take on co-op, wherein one player maneuvers while the other fires or sparks or whatever it is Geometry Wars ships do.
No price has been announced for the game yet, but with its launch rapidly approach, we imagine we’ll know, well, within three weeks.

IGN’s posted what looks to be the world’s first hands-on with the now-confirmed Geometry Wars 2. Snip:
The most interesting multiplayer variant is co-pilot mode. With this mode enabled, you have a single ship. One player is pilot, the other is gunner. Obviously, this mode is shut off for Pacifism, since the gunner would have nothing to do but make off-color comments to his pilot. But in Sequence, you can greatly improve your play. Focusing only on piloting (or shooting) is only going to strengthen your ability. Having that singular focus can turn you into a superstar. And hey, if you’re a pilot, you can show off all the needle-threading skill you’ve attained in Pacifism.
It’s out in a few weeks. And for that we’re thankful. Have a read.
