LostWinds most downloaded on Euro WiiWare

Like, dur. Nintendo’s Laurent Fischer has confirmed to GI that Frontier’s LostWinds is the most downloaded WiiWare content in Europe, followed by Gameloft’s TV Show King and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King from Square Enix.

“We’re not communicating on precise figures – this is confidential – but LostWinds has the highest download level in Europe. And then you have the other titles which come close by, like TV Show King and of course Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles,” he said.

Fischer: Nintendo “working on solution” to Wii storage issue, but hard drive ruled out

According to this GI story, Nintendo of Europe marketing boss Laurent Fischer has confirmed that a Wii storage solution is on the way – but it’s not going to be a hard drive.

“We definitely detect that they [gamers] are serious and we know there is an issue in this, so it’s something that we’re working on,” he said.

“Definitely there’s no plan to issue hardware, an external hard drive, but we know that we have an issue in that area,” he added. “It’s very obvious and we’re perfectly aware of it, but there’s nothing we can say beyond this.”

Exclusive: Nintendo’s Laurent Fischer “regrets” geeks and otaku remark

Nintendo Europe’s senior marketing director, Laurent Fischer, has issued a statement to videogaming247 saying he regrets saying that only “geeks and otaku” care about the issue of Wii storage, and never meant to cause offence.

“I have huge respect for those who, like me, share a common passion for Nintendo and want to make it clear that I would never use and I didn’t use this terminology in such a context or way to cause offence,” he said.

“I regret that this misunderstanding has created such offence and disappointment within the community.”

Fischer caused uproar last weekend after making the comment, and even raised the ire of David Jaffe overnight. You don’t want to raise the ire of David Jaffe.

And that’s the end of that.
