FIFA Interactive World Cup finals taking place in Dubai

This year’s FIFA Interactive World Cup finals will take place in Dubai, MCV Pacific reports. The site says the Emirates was chosen over London in the race to host the tournament. Los Angeles was last year’s host city. It’ll take place in Jumeirah Beach Hotel between May 21-23.

Frenchman wins FIFA World Cup

France’s Bruce Grannec has won the FIFA Interactive World Cup.

The 22-year-old defeated Mexican Ruben Zerecero 3-1 in a Spanish final to best a competition with an initial entry of 500,000.

Grannec, who wins $20,000 (£13,500) and a new car, said his win “paid back hours and hours of practice”.

US FIFA World Cup legs detailed

EA’s announced detailed for the US qualifiers of the FIFA Interactive World Cup, the final winner of which will take place in a regional final in New York for the chance to go on to the actual final. Finally.

The West Regional will take place on March 7 in Santa Monica, and the East Regional is scheduled for March 21 in Baltimore.

Entrants in each Regional Final will be competing for a prize package valued at $2,000 and three berths into the National Final in New York.

Win the PS3-only event and you’re $20,000 richer.

Fourth FIFA Interactive World Cup finals detailed

The 32 players left in the fourth FIFA Interactive World Cup will battle it out for death or glory in Berlin on May 24, EA’s confirmed.

Over 25,000 people entered the competition originally. Reigning champion Andries Smit from the Netherlands will be defending his title for a prize of $20,000 and an invitation to the FIFA World Player Gala 2008.
