Epilepsy tests are “subjective,” says WipEout dev
Speaking to EG, WipEout HD director Tony Buckley has expressed frustration at the game failing a routine epilepsy test.
Not passing resulted in the racer being delayed.
“[It was] frustrating more than anything, because it’s quite subjective the whole test,” he said.
“But we certainly weren’t going to take it lightly. We had to think long and hard about how we approached it, because there were ways and means of doing it, but in the end we managed to actually solve any issues without any detriment to the game.
“That was our worry, that the game would suddenly look poorer as a result of it, but no, it’s all gone really well.”

WipEout HD delayed for failing epilepsy tests
CVG’s reporting that WipEout HD’s been pushed back towards the end of the year for failing epilepsy tests.
Apparently the game “fails the epilepsy tests so much that it has to be re-engineered.”
SCEE boss David Reeves confirmed that game was to be delayed after it failed to turn up at E3.

House of Commons to debate gaming-related epilepsy
The House of Commons is set to debate gaming-related epilepsy after a strenuous campaign by a mum whose son suffered an epileptic fit for the first time whilst playing Rayman Raving Rabbids DS.
The child’s mother, Gaye Herford, wants games to be brought in line with TV and films, both of which are already required by law to be screened for any potential epileptic triggers.
No date for the debate has been set.
