Organisers for the one-day Develop Liverpool event have confirmed more developers to speak at it, including Bizarre Creations, Codemasters’ F1 dev team, Disney, Sony and more.

It’s been confirmed that Develop 2010 has been dated for July 13-15 2010 in Brighton. No keynoters announced yet.

It came at the end of a press release detailing the one day event held recently in Liverpool.

Sony VP Michael Denny has told attendees at Develop Liverpool that new IP is worth the effort because it’s essential to the survival of the gaming industry.

“For me the answer is clear,” said Denny. “Simply, we must support new IP creation to survive as an industry. Consumers crave new things. If we want to stay relevant in an increasingly competitive marketplace, we have to continue to produce new experiences.

“New IP is truly the lifeblood of the industry and Sony’s commitment to producing new IP will continue. We believe we have a promising line up of exclusive new IPs for the year ahead and one that is particularly special to me and reflects a growth of emotional connection and story-telling, is Heavy Rain.”

It’s been announced that the European head of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios Michael Denny will open the inaugural Develop Liverpool with a keynote speech.

The keynote itself is called “Quality, Relevance, Innovation”.

“The Develop conference always represents an important gathering for the Industry, offering a great opportunity for sharing both knowledge and insights. The UK remains a beacon for the Global games development industry, and the North West has been a creative hub within the UK development scene for many years,” said Denny.

“I’m very much looking forward to the event, and it’s a privilege to be invited to deliver the opening keynote at this inaugural event in Liverpool.”

The Develop conference has added a new one-day event in Liverpool for studios in the North.

Develop Liverpool will be held November 5 with Merseyside ICT’s Software City event, and will feature tracks and networking events at the Arena and Conference Center Liverpool.

“With such an active and vibrant development community north of Birmingham it just makes sense to take the Develop conference to Liverpool,” says event director Andy Lane.

“We want as many developers as possible to experience the passion and energy that we saw in Brighton.”

Speakers and details are to be announced at a later date.
