A demo for Modern Warfare 3 will be released on Xbox Live tomorrow. It will feature the single-player mission Black Tuesday. It will also be made available at a later date for PS3. Thanks, Shack.

Activision has provided an update on the next set of Modern Warfare 3 content drops, which will arrive on Xbox 360 July 17 for Elite Premium members.

Activision has released a video for Modern Warfare 3 Content Collection #2, showing the new Face Off maps set to music you’d hear while traversing main street in an old west town at high noon. Content Collection #2 contains the Multiplayer/Survival Mode Maps Sanctuary, Foundation and Oasis, Special Ops Missions Iron Clad and Switch Back and the Face Off maps Getaway and Lookout. While premium Elite members received the pack on May 15, and everyone else received the Face Off content the following day, the pack can be downloaded via Xbox Live on May 22 for 1200 Microsoft Points/$14.99. All content will be available on other platforms at a later date.

According to MP1st, Activision is running a double XP event for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 this weekend. The news comes via a system message when you fire up the multiplayer, and seems to be an Xbox Live-only affair – just like the recent content drop. Never mind, everyone else – your time will come.

Activision has announced that over the next nine months, Modern Warfare 3 players can expect 20 content drops, arriving first for Call of Duty: Elite members.

This franchise doesn’t really behave like most franchises. It’s become something of a year-round activity for a large percentage of our player population. One of the things that was most appealing when we were researching these ideas with consumers is the idea of breaking up the DLC so that it comes more often and more regularly. We want to provide DLC to people more often and also experiment with more of a variety in the forms of playable content. The nature of this kind of service requires constant iteration. Twitter is all abuzz today thanks to Infinity Ward comms boss Robert Bowling tweeting about Modern Warfare 2.

Here’s what he posted:

“Reviewing some radio-chatter VO we just finished recording for Modern Warfare 2 today. ‘Cujo Two-One this is Vulture, solid copy on all.’”

Activision more or less revealed the CoD game back in December during an advertising event, but not a crumb was thrown to the starving public about the game.

Bowling’s tweet doesn’t give us much to go on, but it’s better than nothing. Now we just need to know what it’s be called.
