Arkane named as fourth BioShock 2 developer

Arkane Studios – best known for Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and Arx Fatalis – has confirmed it’s the latest outfit to get to work on BioShock 2.
The Lyon, France-based developer is assisting in level design. In a similar vein, the company recently assisted in creating multiplayer maps for Call of Duty: World at War.
“Under the direction and leadership of 2K Marin, Arkane is assisting in the creation of levels that embody the aesthetic and gameplay ideals that make BioShock such a unique and exciting experience,” said 2K Marin producer Alyssa Finley.
Four developers are now working on the sequel, namely 2K Marin, 2K Australia, Digital Extremes and Arkane Studios.

Sea of Dreams was the name of BioShock 2′s trailer says 2K

Good God. It just won’t die will it?
Turns out Sea of Dreams was the title of the BioShock 2 teaser, not a subtitle to the game. Got it? It’s not the game’s subtitle.
“We name most of our trailers at 2K and the name of the teaser trailer we released last October for BioShock 2 is called Sea of Dreams,” 2K’s Charlie Sinhaseni told IGN.
“There was talk about adding that as an official subtitle, but we decided to simply keep it BioShock 2. We’re sorry for the confusion, but we’re glad people are so interested.”
Hopefully that’s the end of the matter. Until 2K changes its mind again.

No more “Sea of Dreams” in BioShock 2 title

If you were wondering where the “Sea of Dreams” bit from BioShock 2′s name had got to in the recent GI reveal, the answer’s pretty simple: it isn’t there any more.
“You won’t be seeing ‘Sea of Dreams’ moving forward, just ‘BioShock 2′,” 2K Games community manager Elizabeth Tobey told Primotech.
The games was originally titled BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams when shown in its first trailer.
Never more. We should probably care. But we don’t.
Thanks, Blue.

BioShock 2 – You play as a Big Daddy

Yes, finally, we can tell you that you play as a Big Daddy in BioShock 2.
Subs issues of Game Informer have hit, confirming that you take control of the first gigantic walking chap thing, have changeable weapons for your arm and new, mutated plasmids.
You can now adopt Little Sisters, as well as either killing them or saving them.
There’s more on Shacknews, which is a culmination of stuff from the Gamespot forums and NeoGAF. It’s unconfirmed as yet, but it’s true, if you know what we mean.

BioShock 2 teaser site updated with very obvious notes

BioShock 2 teaser site Somethinginthesea.com has been updated again, with time with a few notes and a picture.
The picture’s of a red blob. In the sea. We’re assuming that’s the “something”. One of the notes is about a girl gone missing from La Rochelle, which is pinned on the Indian west coast, for some reason. Probably a space issue.
Lastly, there’s a bit of paper saying, “Doesn’t anyone notice the patterns?”
Yep. We think we do. Keep watching for the Big Reveal, Daddy, fans.
