Amazon Instant Video now available on Wii

Amazon has announced the extension of its Instant Video service to the Wii. To utilise the service, you simply need to register your Wii with Amazon and then log into your account through the console. Before you start going on about the futility of value-adding a dying consoles, here’s a reminder that the Wii shifted 475,000 units in December 2012 – a fair few more than its successor, the Wii U.

Wii U gains Amazon Instant Video app

Amazon instant Video has arrived on the Wii U; the free app can be found on the Home screen or on the eShop. The service offers 140,000 movies and TV episodes available to purchase or rent as well as 30,000 free items for Amazon Prime subscribers. The Game Pad supports both navigation and playback; get on board here.

Nintendo wasn’t kidding about quickly ramping up the Wii U’s US video service. Although we don’t yet have the promised TVii suite, the console launched with Netflix (now with less broken password support) and YouTube, and has already added Hulu Plus.

Amazon Instant Video now available for XBL Gold Members

Amazon Instant Video is now available for XBL Gold Members. The app added today to the Xbox Live Dashboard under the Video Apps marketplace. The service was added to PSN back in April, and requires an Amazon Prime membership. The app allows users to rent and purchase various movies and television shows for a fee.

Sony has added Amazon Instant Video to PSN, and it’s now available as an option through the video section of the XMB. The app allows users to rent and purchase various movies and television shows for a fee. Amazon Prime members will have full access based on their annual subscription.
