Monday, 19th November 2012 10:52 GMT By Dave Cook

Epic Mickey: The Power of Two reviews are out in force. We didn’t round them up at the time, but we have now, and the news is not good. The house of mouse is burning down and a cacophony of delightful cartoon creatures are rolling around on the grass trying to put the flames on their backs out. Get the scores below.

OXM – 7/10
Destructoid – 2/10
Digital Spy – 3/5
Gaming Examiner – 8.5/10
Blast – 2/5
EGM – 8.5/10
GameTrailers – 6.7/10
IGN – 6/10
Game Informer – 5.75/10
Edge – 5/10
Games Radar – 5/10
Gamespot – 5/10

Ouch. The game also launches as part of Wii U’s European debut from November 30th. Will anyone still buy it regardless?

Got a score we’ve missed? Throw it at us and we’ll add it in.

Warren Spector is a great designer with a history filled with gaming finest milestones. For a great designer to come up with a bad game isn’t really something new nor special but for a smart one to insist into going for the same direction that he just can’t handle is the thing I don’t understand. People expected huge stuff from Warren under Disney but man this is not the way to go.

I think he should just admit that and go for a totally new thing. Leaving Disney ain’t gonna be bad. I actually don’t think Disney would look at Junction Point the same way it did when it was purchased.

Come on Warren, dont waste your time/reputation with Epic Mickey. It is a great IP like u said, but it is not the one to be handled by you.

I havent played the game yet, but i dont think it is a two out of ten scale, mainly because the previous wii title, was a good game, the only issue i did had with the game was the camera, and i did get used to it, i really liked the game for me was an eight.

Now based on this premised they really have to change a lot the game and made terrible design decisions in order to deserve such a low score, in my eyes if they left the game as it was in the first title, it cannot deserve it neither, so iam curious to see the reasoning for such a low score, nontheless i will picking it up, becuase i did like the first one a lot.

@#1 You really should see that destructoid review, too. Painful. Part of my heart died just reading it.
(Til now most scores I’ve seen were average, lots of 6s this weekend.)

This runs like ass on the WiiU. I recommend you buy it on another platform.

After playing the demo on the 360 last week, that’s about what I expected to see from reviewers. Shame.

My wife is playing the WiiU version right now. It looks great and plays great. She is loving it. She has been playing it all day. Our youngest son just got home(he is 17yr) and just picked up the wiimote and jumped right in. They really like it.

I just don’t get it, did the they not pay for reviews or something? The game I am watching is in no way shape or form a 2/10. I would say 7/8 out of 10. I haven’t read their reviews, guess I am can go take a look. But it seems to me that something isn’t right here.

Ok read a couple of them, I don’t get it. The low ones seem to be angry that the game isn’t “darker” or that the game doesn’t somehow break the mold of what a platform game is(depiste the paint/thinner mechanic).

We haven’t beaten the game yet. And I never played the first one. But what I see is an at the worst average 3D platformer. It has a lot of fan service to Disney fans(why my wife loves it). The graphics are sharp and colorful, control is solid, camera work is tight and sometimes forced, The music is great, the story is good, and my wife won’t let me near the system(going on 6 hours now), because she is playing the game.

I don’t agree with any of the neg stuff, other then camera can feel stiff sometimes. Oh well.
