Tales of Xillia 2 boasts an interesting battle system in which the main character takes on another form in order to destroy an alternate world, but there’s absolutely none of that in its launch trailer. Instead, we have playing with cats; eating soup; sitting on swings, and silent conversations.

Tales of Xillia 2 videos chat with first game’s heroes

Three new videos have ben released for Tales of Xillia 2, showing off main character Gaius’s unique abilities along with conversations with Jude and Milla. These two are the twin protagonists of the first Tales of Xillia, which is on its way to the west next year; hopefully the sequel, which hits Japan in early November, will also make it over at some stage.

A plethora of new screens of Namco Bandai’s PS3-exclusive Tales of Xillia 2 show off sharply-dressed ladies and gentlemen kicking seven bells out of all manner of nasties. Andriasang has more than three dozen screens for your eyes to drink-in, amongst them is this chap who puts me in mind of a young Jaeger from Valkyria Chronicles.

Namco announces Tales of Xillia 2 for November release in Japan

Following a Jump leak from earlier this morning, Namco has announced Tales of Xillia 2 will release in Japan on November 1. The firm also revealed a short story pre-order bonus which delves into the happenings between Xillia 1 and 2. A costume for Ludger is also a bonus, which will allow the character to dress as Emil Castagnier from Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. Two more costumes will be revealed at a later date. Also announced were special editions. Gematsu has complete coverage from Namco’s livestream of the game announcement through the link.
